thanks in advance for any information that someone can provide for my transmission issues

Well, I'm posting this after much searching and subscribing to threads that I consider useful in my quest to same time and money, one out of two i'm shooting for lol

I have a transmission code " V" which I believe to be a 5R55s? it has almost 85,000 on the clock, well taken care of, however I have owned it for almost 3 years without any issues, however now I'm having transmissions issues described as follows: delayed and hard shift into " R" then a hard hit, however not all the time,( maybe bad u-joints, i'll check those this weekend) possible u- joints worn or solenoid issue?, feels like I have the 2-3 flair going on also, however is not so bad when I can feel it starting t shift , then I lift ever so slightly off the accelerator and it will change almost like normal, 3-4 feels somewhat like a flair also, however I can do the same thing with the accelerator and get a somewhat normal shift.

I hear a noise in the front bellhousing area that sounds like a whirling noise in " P" and " N " but sounds as though it goes away when put into " R " or " D", however when the AC compressor is operating and the transmission is in "R" or "D" I hear a strange noise from the bellhousing or front of the transmission area and it goes away when I put it back in "P" or "N", maybe a pump going bad, not sure if it is a torque converter issue at this point, or a clogged filter

I have read many post and comments about this particular transmission and not sure if its a good design at this point. I will continue to search this forum for more information, but input is appreciated, I'm just a shade tree mechanic with the ability to work on a large range of equipment, however these automatic transmissions are complicated, thus being at the mercy of the great transmission gurus on here,

Cheers! and thanks again for any input

Search over in the transmissions section, lots of discussion and information regarding your symptoms and what others have done to try to resolve it.

thank you! I'll search in that section
