2007 radio led fades

My wife’s 2007 Explorer has radio issues. The led display fade out, completely. Everything else works fine, just can’t see what channel you’re on. I can rap on the face of the radio and it will light back up, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for half hour, then fades out. Sounds like some kind of short. Any body know of an “ easy “ fix for this? Thanks

Do an advanced search on here for radio display fix you should find your answer. Under the advance search limit the search to just the 4th gen stock fourm other wise you will search all the sub fourms. I believe it has something to do a resistor and you will need to reflow the solder to fix it.

Youtube videos on. You need to remove the radio from dash and add some more solder to back of the radio. I did it, easy. Just watch video and follow instructions.
