Ford spent $5 million developing this car, and another $2 million just building this particular one. This is the first and only one of this type in existence, and was completed yesterday afternoon in California. In January of 2004 it was sketched out on paper. In February a full size mockup was molded in clay. Now, a year later, the real thing is on it's way to the Detroit Auto Show. This car wasn't a mockup or a shell. The sculptor, designer and escort for the car is hoping it will take best of show this year. And Kitty Hawk delivered it!

This is the 2007 Ford Shelby GR1 concept car. If Ford decides to put it into production, potential buyers can expect to pay around $200,000 for it.
The entire exterior of the car is polished aluminum, and it has liquid cooled LED headlights.

as I understand it, that car has the V-10 that the new cobra concept has. If thats the case, don't expect to see it in production, like the new cobra concept. They can't get that motor to pass emmisions laws for 2007 so they probably won't make it.

I still see some pantera styling queues in that car too, especially around the windows.

I'm already on the waiting list. Right between Leno and Gates. :p

Nothing like a sports car with ridiculous wide tires in the back.

Looks like a Aston-Martin Vanquish in a two-seater version. Great lookin car overall tho!

I have NEVER seen anything so cool.

That is by far the sweetest car I have ever seen. I hope they produce em, those are friggin awesome. All that polished aluminum would show alot of fingerprints though. Man that is sweet ass

That is the baddest car i have ever seen!

I like everything except the polished part, makes it hard to see the body lines really well.

thats just an awesome looking car, i think i've read everything on it, very cool new techno on this bad boy....it would be awesome to see this in real person...drooooool

That looks fast as **** .... if it really does MSRP for only $200k... my God I would do anything in my power to get the 3-400k that one would need to actually have a chance at getting one.

I was going to make the same comment until i remembered that ford owns Aston Martin, also to me resembles a bit of 3rd gen Corvette if you look at it the right way, bit of GT40 as well.

I was also going to say that, Dark blue with maybe a white stripe or 2 like they did on the GT40 but I am guessing they wanted it more unique then another GT40

Does anybody else LOVE the as...rear end?

I was going to comment on the rear. That is the most incredible car I have ever seen. Think I can trade in my 97 for it? :D ;)

You might have to throw a couple hundred bucks their way but yeah, I think you could work something out. :D That is definitely badass.
