Currently driving a 2003 4.0 2WD. Timing chain is about to go out, unfortunately, and want to trade before the vehicle is dead.

http://roanstreetmotors.com/ search ford and it's on the first page if you feel like looking

Explorer is a pearl white color, 4x4 with 128k. Can get it for around 7500 with trade and 1500 down. Test drove it a couple of times, and shifts well. Everything works electronically. Motor sounds great. Reverses fine. Leather seats are in immaculate condition. VIN check: http://www.autofind.com/dealer/details/217016/1FMEU75E08UA77488/autocheck

Is it worth it? Will I experience the same timing chain issue with this model? According to dealer, was mostly rural driving.

Btw, 2003 has 203k. It has been a great vehicle and still has the original engine. Transmission was replace around 140k. Installed remote start and aftermarket nav, back up camera. Leather and 3rd row seat. Always ran synthetic oil and one previous owner before me. Interior and exterior are mint and I have been told that it is worth replacing engine. Just don't want to deal with this same issue down the road.

I think that's too much. Around 6-6.5 would be fair. It's an 08, so probably it was build in 07. It's almost a 10 year old car with the engine that may go bad pretty soon.
Yes, it's in great condition, and has the HD towing package, but missing NAV.

Sometimes I wonder how Ford defines Limited.

It should have every option in the book.

If you like it go for it, you need to be happy with it, nobody else :)

Be sure to check the third row seats for proper operation. Stripped gears are pretty common on these. I'd run them up and down a few times, not just once.
Nice looking truck. Don't think I'd pay that price for it though since it has the 6 cyl. engine.

Looks like the seller picked up the vehicle wholesale at auction per your link. My family has a wholesale auto business. There's some room on the price. Don't pay that price. Look it up in a NADA wholesale book and that's what the seller most likely paid for the vehicle. Make sure it's a recent edition of the NADA publication.
