2008 explorer roof rack cross bars?

Our 2008 explorer xlt did not come with the cross bars for the roof rack. It has the mounts on top of the roof that run from the front to the rear on each side just no cross bars.

I have been trying to order some oem ford cross bars but they are on back order.

Does anyone have experience with after market cross bars? Do they just clamp on the the mounts? Any brands suggested?

You could get some at a salvage yard. You will also need the 4 rail clips (the part the cross bars attach to) and you'll be good to go.
