2008 Ford Escape oil change

sorry if this is a stupid question, but I put in semi-synthetic oil in my 2008 Escape last week, and now the dash board is displaying "5% oil life, change soon".

What did I do wrong and do I need to get another oil change already?

No you dont- its the countdown service reminder- I think it can be reset with a code reader if you can get your hands on an OBD2 one- beg borrow or steal it- they are great tools to have if you own a Ford.
Its what the stealer puts in to panic the average motorist into paying the rip off prices to have servicing done at a stealership!

yea you have to reset the comuter saying that you changed the oil

Does it have the Message center with Info/Reset/setup buttons? If so, go into Setup.. there'll be something in there to reset it.
