My 2008 Sport Trac Limited 4x4 4.6L recently started to have issues.. the transmission shifts fine when cold start and drive arround 15 min at runing temp.. then if a make a stop the transmission loosses power and you can hear the engine fan sound louder without accelerating.. if I accelarate the truck moves really slow but you can feel is shifting gears and the fan keeps hearing louder.. then I stop and turn the carr off, let it sit for 20 seconds then I start it again and it drives fine until I make a stop or slow down.. it does this while driving in the city.. on hiway drives fine at normal speed (65 mil/hr).

anybody that can help with any ideas what to look into?... any suggestions will be mutch appreciated!

BDW.. over drive light DOES NOT blinks.. they put a hi-tec scanner and did not throw any transmission codes, only indicate the *abs control module failure* also shows the abs+trac ligt on the dashboard.

The engine fan should not have anything to do with the transmission operation. If the fan wasn't working properly then your engine would be overheating. How many miles are on the vehicle and when was the last time you had the transmission serviced?

Hello Eddie, the transmission was serviced about 4 months ago,
I know the fan has nothing to do with the transmission, I mentioned because that is the first sympthom that tells me the trasmission will start loosing power so I need to stop asap...

could it be the abs system failure a reason for the transmission module to send a signal for blocking?... just wonder?

I don't think the fan running points to the transmission having a problem. Especially considering there are no transmission codes tripped. There might be an issue in the cooling system that is making the ECU to put the engine in limp mode to prevent catastrophic damage. It could be a sensor that is telling the ECU the engine is severely overheating. I think your transmission is fine. Does an orange wrench so up in the instrument cluster or the Check Engine light come on when this happens? Maybe the coolant temperature sensor, or its wiring, is causing an erratic reading that is making the ECU think the engine is severely overheating.
