After my mint Mountaineer was little used for a couple of years, in which I always ran it a little every week, it sat unstarted for a few weeks (with a mtce battery charger on it); I had a health issue. BTW, I put an Odyssey Extreme Group 65 in it shortly after buying the vehicle; an awesome battery, imo

Went to start it up and it cranks, but no ignition and run; once or twice it seemed to fire one cylinder or it was my imagination.

I looked into a possible PATS or key problem and understand that if a problem in that area, it won't crank the starter due to the immobilizer.
The description of the system seems to say that the starter circuit will be interrupted if the transponder key has a problem, or the steering column part of the circuit.
So the engine turning would rule out a problem with the PATS?

I have one original key and one apparent duplicate key, neither starts the vehicle now ,although they used to work fine.

Neither button fob does anything right now either, changed the battery in one of them too, a 2032 coin batt. They used to work just fine too.

Is this just a usual fuel feed or ignition circuit problem?
Haven't done too much troubleshooting yet, beyond puzzling over the PATS system, which I've never dealt with before.
Although have tried to start on numerous days, and even added fuel since it was a little low (has about 9-10 gallons in the tank).

Or could it be trouble with the security systems? Some trouble due to just sitting unused for too long? Maybe the key got wiped, although the keys were kept separately.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Have never had a lick of trouble from this vehicle before, I just luv it; but would like to start using it a bit. Even though it's hard to let my 20 year old, but like new with just 20K miles, Caddy DeVille siit idle If driving something else (another awesome vehicle, and buy; you just have to patiently shop and wait for the right ones. ;). ..
