How to install a drivers door keyless entry pillar on a 2011 explorer ?

I'm replacing it, mine has crack in it above the touch pad

Well on the 16 you first remove the lower window outside molding which has ONE screw at the edge of the door. Then its just carefully pry it out. I would do that with the window down. Then roll up the window and remove the inside door panel. Unplug keypad connector. To remove keypad, pry the keypad off (it is held on with double sided tape). Clean off all the old tape and clean surface thoroughly.

Then attach new keypad and install in reverse procedure.

No there isn't. You can add another type of keyless entry pad.

Welcome to the Forum.
I can't say for sure but seeing as there was a refresh on the 2016+ models, I'm guessing that it is.
Here is a video of removing the door panel on a 2014. I don't know if the 2017 is the same or not. Are you having issues with the securicode panel? 2015 XLT - Securicode / Remote Keypad panel issue
