NOTE: FAILURE TO APPLY THE GREASE MAY RESULT IN UNACCEPTABLE BRAKE NOISE AT LOWER SPEEDS UNDER LIGHT BRAKING.

NOTE: GREASE SHOULD NOT BE APPLIED TO OTHER COMPONENTS LIKE PINS OR SHIMS. DURING BRAKE INSPECTION, LOOK FOR FOREIGN OBJECTS TRAPPED BETWEEN THE DUST SHIELD AND ROTOR. THESE CAN CAUSE NOISE DURING BRAKING AND OFF-BRAKE CONDITIONS.

Ford Issues Ventilation Smoke Service Bulletin

Ford TSB Number 14-0113.

Ford has issued a technical service bulletin for its full-size cars and crossovers, including the Ford Flex, Taurus, and Explorer, as well as the Lincoln MKS and MKT. Certain models of these vehicles have a problem with ventilating smoke, with the only models affected being the ones equipped with the turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. The issue is fixed by installing a new and improved valve cover, PVC valve, and crankcase vent oil separator.
Affected vehicles: affected vehicles utilize Ford’s turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and are limited to the automaker’s full-size Ford and Lincoln cars and crossovers, including:

FORD:
2010-2014 Flex, Taurus
2013-2014 Explorer
LINCOLN:
2010-2014 MKS, MKT
ISSUE
Some 2010-2014 Flex, MKS, MKT, Taurus and 2013-2014 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.5L Gasoline
Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) engine with an aluminum valve cover may exhibit excessive oil consumption and/or
excessive engine oil smoking condition from the tail pipe at idle during normal engine operating temperatures.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) Valve. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-08.
2. Inspect for oil in the crankcase vent oil separator through the PCV valve opening. Is there presence of liquid oil, more
than slight vapor?
a. No - this article does not apply refer to WSM, Section 303-00 for Excessive Engine Oil Consumption.
b. Yes - proceed to Step 3.
3. Replace the right hand valve cover, refer to WSM, Section 303-01D.
4. Replace the crankcase vent oil separator, refer to WSM, Section 303-08.
5. Drive the vehicle at normal operating temperature for 20 minutes at constant highway speed to remove oil residue
from catalytic converter.

TSB 14-0114 is for a rattle noise in the 5.4L engine, not the 3.5L. TSB 14-0113 is for excessive oil consumption on the 3.5L Ecoboost with no mention of a rattle noise on that engine. Please check your facts before posting info regarding TSB's as other sites might have it wrong.

All it takes is one site to get it wrong from the beginning and everyone just keeps copying wrong info. I checked Oasis, the direct source for TSB's. The original info you posted is incorrect.
