2011 or 2012 explorer

I ordered my 2011 limited on 5/10. The color I choose was the black that they no longer make. My dealer has no new info, it could be months! I read a post that said they ordered on 4/4 and they found out that 2011's are not being made anymore. They are getting a 2012. Is this going to happen to me?

You'll probably get a 2012, but they are still making 2011s. Check out this window sticker, this '11 Explorer is scheduled to be built on 7/13. It looks like Ford will make nearly 100,000 Explorers for 2011.

It’s possible that your order will need to be for a 2012MY instead, like Stang Cobra said. Please keep us updated on what the dealer finds. I also have your order information from a previous message, so please send me a private message if you would like me to research this further for you too.

What I would like to know: Are we going to get ANY kind of black metallic color at some point for the MY12? What is Ford planning in that regards?

I'm planning on ordering a Lincoln MKZ and an Explorer probably in February (my beater will hopefully last that long) and I desperately want black metallic - no matter if it's Tuxedo or something close. Flat black is not an option.

I wish they would offer Tuxedo Black, it's an incredible color. The Ebony Black does nothing for me.
