2012 Ford Explorer
I have a 2012 Ford Explorer and I don't know the factory door code. Does anyone know where it is located on the 2012? I know I can go to the dealer and they can get it but not without a price. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks AlamoXLT for providing the link for your fellow new member.

The door code is also usually included in the package containing the Owner's Guide and other booklets when the vehicle was new.

Door code

Door code for most explorers are located in the back cargo area where your tire iron and road hazard stuff is stored. ( mine has a panel that pulls off in the back area ) anyways if yours has this panel, set the knobs to open and pull it off. You will see a little black box with white sticker and wire harness coming out of. It is on that white sticker. May have to use your tire iron and bend the plastic out a bit to see what the numbers are. Hope this works for you, owned my 97 explorer for over 3 years and never knew it until I found the box.

Not in the 5th gen. See post 2 above.

Hi Brian. If you are referring to the Securicode keypad code, then have a look at this; Finding Factory Door Code (Securicode)
Have you checked the manuals package?

Thanks for the link. Appreciate it. I found the code under the dash but cant get it to work. Is there a secret to the door keypad? My Explorer is a 2011. I managed to lock the doors from the door key pad but the code from under the dash gets me no where. Thanks again for the link.

There is a chance that the original owner may have changed the code but even so, the original factory code should still work. Have you checked your Owner's Manual on the Securicode, page 149 of the 4th printing?

Thanks for all the info. I did get the code from the sticker to work on the dash screen to input my own code. But, I think the keypad itself is malfunctioning. I can get the doors to lock but that is it. Oh well. Just gonna keep my key with me HAHA!
