2013 cargo cover

I ordered the rear cargo cover for my 2013 Explorer. The attachment to the rear window is by clip and velcro....but the velcro/clip bar is seamed to the cover. What the heck? Why? Even the dealer service department (who looked this up) couldn't figure why.
I'm about to cut this seam that hold the window clip/velcro from the cover.

Anybody else see this? It's only for the 2013 Explorer and supposed to be a dealer accessory.

BTW > anyone have a good roll/pull cover assembly that works for the new 2013 Explorer? I'd be interested. This one from the dealer (even they adimit) is VERY poor and not user friendly to use.

There have been a few posts about this 'security cover' and not many have been overly positive in nature. You say that is only for the 2013 Explorer. I guess that they must have made some changes to it from the 2011/2012 models.

I ended up just buying a black moving blanket at Home Depot. So if I have something valuable, I throw the blanket on top. If I have something dirty or something that might leak, I put the blanket underneath. And if I have something that is going to scratch up the panels, I wrap it in the blanket.

My 2004 Escape has an awesome roll up cover. For the price difference I would have thought that the Explorer would have had the same quality of cover ....... What a disappointment!
