2013 Explorer XLT
Hello,

I just bought a new Explorer XLT with MyFord Touch and I'm trying to figure out all of the controls.

On the climate controls I've notice some issues with the auto features.

You can't set the fan speed to down to off. And if you turn the climate system off when you turn it back on the fan speed is set to auto which sometimes starts blasting on full which is pretty annoying.

Basically I want it to rememeber the fan speed I had it set to when I turned the climate off. It will remember the temp and air direction - why not the fan speed?

Also turning on MAX AC will set the fan speed to auto and set the temp to LO.

Is there any way disable the auto climate controls or a way to set what the defaults are when the system turns on?

Welcome to the forums nickbro!

We only turned AUTO on last night for the first time, but only after we were driving around. I'll run some experiments and see if there is a way to trick it :)

Welcome to the Forum nickbro.:wavey: I see that Vince is trying to take over my unofficial job.:D
The Climate and Auto now appear to come on together, sometimes. Before the 12B36 program update, I'm sure they were separate. I never turn them off as I don't see a need for that.
I can't say I've noticed a problem with fan speed. It very seldom even notice it being on. When required, it will go to a higher speed but doesn't stay there.
What I have just now noticed, is that once MAX A/C is selected, the Temp does say Lo. When I went back to Climate/Auto, I had to reset my original temperatures as they had also changed to Lo.
Time to hit the book again?

Peter

LOL, busted!

You will still be the official unofficial welcoming committee. Who else has the little wavey dude? :D

Thanks for the weclome guys... Played around with it for a while today and couldn't find anywhere to modify it. Drove about 2 hours in it and left the fan set to auto and it did a pretty decent job I guess.

Was really just wanting it to come back to where I left it when I turned it off.

Managed around the automatic setting to LO with Max A/C by just hitting my temp but that doesn't help if the dual zone was set (unless there is a MyTemp for the dual as well?)

Spent a fair amount of driving time trying to increase my average MPG after I found the screen that shows you real time what it is :)

Finding new stuff all the time!!!

Nickbro,
I have a 2013 XLT Explorer and have the same problem with the A/C. Also the Radio stations change with out touching anything.

I've noticed that when I use my remote start and get in the vehicle, the rear vents are going full blast. Then when I hit the brake and push the start button it stops.... Is this normal?

Yes it is. It all runs at a higher speed on the remote start to warm/cool the vehicle quicker. Once you are ready to go it all returns to the normal settings.

Hello,

Also turning on MAX AC will set the fan speed to auto and set the temp to LO.

All MAX AC does is what you just stated. No need to keep it on or even use it...it's just a preset so you don't have to hit the temp and fan buttons
