What a riot this thing is to drive, I picked it up last night and have had a blast with it so far.

sweet, i loved my focus. i was a commuting mad man, and threw over 230k on mine. never had a problem with it. not one, and still sold it for 3 grand.

I'll be replacing the Saab with one of those. I hope it performs as good as it looks.

Go drive one, its runs great even stock. It is really surprising how nice of a car it is.

I didn't think they were out yet?

They just started to hit the dealerships about a week ago. I grabbed this one Monday night.

I just checked the few in my area, the most exciting thing we have is a 2013 Fusion 2.0t. I still might have to swing past to check it out. I'll keep my eye out for a Focus.

I test drove one and loved it! On my list to get in near future hopefully.

Still waiting for my local dealer to get one. I've been seriously contemplating purchasing an ST.

I had it over in Sanford at SCT Wednesday for use in a video and development.

What kind of power have you been able to get out of it?

Update!

Vehicle is still in development:
1. Flashing works
2. Software works
3. Firmware and software will work back and forth with calibrations to test stability, find parameters and ensure flashing is solid, then it will go to QA to test.

Will have more information as tests are passed. Completion should be within 2 weeks.

Stock run data below 87 Octane. Note how Engine coolant temperature plays a massive role in end power output once you get to real world temperatures. Also note that Cat over temp is also to blame for the upper RPM power reduction.

Runfile 012 @ 145 degrees ECT
Runfile 013 @ 185 degrees ECT
Runfile 014 @ 196 degrees ECT

As temperatures increase COT kicks in and timing decreases.

Pretty impressive to be getting numbers so close to the advertised HP, at the wheels, especially with such a weak fuel.

Completely agreed. The dealer filled it with 87 so we elected to start at the bottom. Its only got 285 miles on the odo

But yeah its way underrated.

I have the first SCT tuned Focus ST on the planet right now. SCT will release the dyno sheets next week I would estimate on Monday. Shortly after that I’ll move into modifying the vehicle and working through various stages of tuning and outline what we gained power with and what we didn’t.

This powertrain runs out of turbo almost instantly.

As stated in our calibration thread our 13 ST was purchased with one primary “focus” in mind and that was to get custom tuning jump started and available to all of us. We all know that will be the base platform needed to properly calibrate these vehicles from stock form to highly modified. Since last week we have had the only Tuned Focus ST on the planet.

A big thanks goes out to the whole team at SCT and Especially Chris Johnson for all of the hard work they have done to bring this together !!

Dyno :

SCT vs Stock Calibration Notes:

Same SCT calibration was tested on both 87 and 93....power is down about 15fwhp on 87 vs 93.

NOTE: SCT recommends 93 or 91 octane.

The big deal is the power gain when the car is "hot" and at normal drive temp (99% of your time)

Stock Boost Levels- Stock the ST will make spikes of boost around
21.5 psi and then holds between 20psi - 17psi, depending on the commanded torque.

SCT Calibration Boost Levels - SCT 93 Octane Calibration the ST will make spikes of boost around 23.5 psi and then holds between 22.5psi
- 17psi, depending on the commanded torque.

Air Inlet Temps are very good.....after 10 minutes of idle time and
7 runs in a row they climbed from 80F (run 1) to 110F (run 7).

Stock Speed Limit is 186mph

Stock Rev Limit is 6700rpm
SCT Calibration Rev Limit is 7300rpm

Torque Truncation has been eliminated

Now, the car remains an ANIMAL on the street after it has some heat in it.

I am also putting together a group buy for the SCT X3 programmer $ 399 through October.

Link to order, its listed at the very top of the page :
