Ok, I have 2013 Explorer that had a Strut mount bearing go bad.
I ordered Strut Assemblies from Rockauto, and in my haste did not see the Date Difference. Our Ex was manufactured 7/12, and struts say before or after 9/12. So I started to look into this, and the Strut body on the pre 9/12 says it is 11.3" and post 9/12 16.17".
I measured and compared the strut I took off, and they seem to be Identical to the Post 9/12 Strut. I have sent monroe and email, but this is starting to hurt my brain.
Os a side note, the strut issue came up as I fought to get the strut back on the spindle, only to find out the knuckle of the Passenger side CV joint had also come apart and was keeping the spindle from pivoting into place.
Thanks for the Help
