2013 Truckhaven Rock Run Oct 25th-27th

Have we filled in the "In" crowd, the "maybes"?

Side note, I have a tent this time around, now I won't get quizzical looks like last time when I pulled out the sleeping bag and laid down in the sand.

It just occured to me.. Isn't this the 3rd annual John Rock Run?

I've spent most of my adult life sleeping in the dirt, a tent is nice once in a while.:D

I believe you'd be correct sir. We gonna do anything special to honor him?

I think it'd be cool if we could get stickers or something made up for the run.

I'm feast or famine. Either a navy issue sleeping bag under the merc or I bring the wife's bed.(34 ft MH). Atleast the wifes bed will trailer my crap. LOL

Also, does anybody bring younger kids out? Mine will be 3 and 5 by then.

I started bringing my son out there when he was 5 (17 now). Ah, I can still remember his first dirt angle.

I took my son on the tacoma club meet last saturday night in OW. I take them both about 75% of the time, just curious who else had kids tagging along.

People bring their kids all the time:chug:

It's a family event. My kids come out and ride along. In fact My wife wheeled my truck almost the entire trip last trip.

I basically started teaching my son how to drive out there when he was about 10.

I live in Vegas but grew up in San Diego... How shunned will some friends get if I invite them with their jeeps so I can use it as an excuse to go wheeling and see some old friends that I don't see very often?

..No shunning here..:nono:

...If you brought it, wheel it...We don't care if it's a bomber, a hoopty, or even a jeep (safety first though as we don't want to put others at risk)...:biggthump

..We are equal opportunity...We expect to get pointed and laughed at too wherever we go but by the end of the day we have new admiration's and acquired new Friends...:D

Cool, I'm going to extend an invite to 2 jeep friends that I grew up wheeling with but don't really get to see that often. They're out in Truckhaven a ton and I'd never hear the end of it if they got word that I was out there and didn't tell them. LOL They can both take the pointing and laughing for sure!

Wheeling is wheeling! It doesn't matter what vehicle you bring (except maybe 2 wheels) as long as we're having fun and nobody's getting hurt. :bounce: :bounce:

...We have several Long Time members who have Jeeps and Toyota's..;)

..If you see any of the old threads you will see them in group shots as well as individual shots too..

...There is really not much razzing as we are just out there to wheel and have a good time..We usually are laffing at our ownselves for doing something boneheaded...Haha..:D

Besides the food is great, the company better, and whose not to like being able to park your rig tune your radio and watch the latest, or the coolest of movies on the big desert drive-in!

Acceptance is one of the things I love about a group like this. It is something that some of the "BRAND J ONLY" clubs really are missing. I personally can't stand being around that type of group.

Has anybody been to Font's Point? I have not been to anything on the s22 side and would like to visit this but I'm not sure how easy it is to find. Looks like just a dirt road off of s22? Any interest in making a run to this during the weekend? I am going to make it for sure.
