My 16 FPIU bluetooth sync kept disconnecting. My iphone was still connected to make and receive calls, but Apple Music & Pandora wouldn’t play. Got message to connect a bluetooth device. Searched here for the fix, didn’t find it. But found the same problem on an Escape. That solution fixed my issue.
With the truck running, disconnect the fuse under the dash for SYNC, number 32, 10 amp for 2016 FPIU. Once disconnected, turn off the truck, let it sit for a minute, put the fuse back in, and start the truck. Bluetooth should still be set up, bluetooth media will stay connected and music from your phone will once again play through SYNC.
