I had this issue after an HVAC module update on my 2016 and others may see this too if the dealer updates your HVAC module. This does not affect the HVAC system and everything works as expected. Here is the note from Ford dated June 27, 2017.
FYI, the HVAC update added a feature where the cooled seats now come on during remote start in warm weather(before only heated seats/steering wheel activated during cold weather on my vehicle). Some vehicles may already have this feature if they have a newer software calibration.

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3000 After Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Calibration Update And/Or Module Replacement – 2016 Ford Explorer
Some 2016 Explorer vehicles may exhibit a DTC U3000:49 after a HVAC Calibration update and/or module replacement.
Diagnose all other symptoms and DTCs first.
If no additional DTCs or symptoms are present, disregard this DTC.
Do not attempt repairs at this time.
Engineering is investigating.
