2017 EXPLORER BASE MODEL
My 2017 anytime the temperature goes below freezing does not start.

When I open the door, there is no chime, the dashboard screen and radio screen are off. There is no turn over. There is no chime when I put the key in. There is literally no sound or response from the car in any way when I turn the key. Complete silence lol.

However the headlights can be turned on and off. You can flash the high-beams. the locks cycle. even the remote can lock/unlock the doors and the confirmation "honk" when locking works, and the horn works too. So the car does have electricity.

Once the car warms up after a few hours, as the sun hits it or as the day gets warmer, the car operates and behaves perfectly normal.

This is the base model of the 2017 so it did not come with the remote start feature. This was installed a while after I got the car at the dealership. It also does not start using the remote start. the car honks to confirm and nothing happens.

The starter has been replaced, I've been given multiple batteries including a stronger ones, I've had the fuel injector also replaced. This happens every winter and my dealership can never solve and tells me it didn't do that and started right up for them... I believe this is because the car had time to warm up before they got to my car that morning/afternoon.

Any info would absolutely help!

I've been trying to solve this issue for years!!

Thank you!!

Are you able to 'jump start' it when this happens? Does the keyfob have a remote start?

I've tried jumping in the past but no luck.

in regards to the remote start its press lock 3x.

I am not sure if the remote start has anything to do with it.

I just wanted to mention it as it is the only modification that has ever been done to the vehicle and include as much info about the car and issue as possible.

Does the remote start work?
Are the battery terminals clean and making good contact? It's strange that there doesn't seem to be power to turn over the engine but the headlights will go on. Do you hear anything when you turn the key in the ignition or is it completely silent/dead?
Do you add anything to the vehicle's system in the colder months that you don't have installed in the warmer months?

Complete silence when I turn the key.

Also remote start doesn't start the car either. just honks and nothing happens.

Also I don't install anything in the vehicle.

I've run out of ideas. On the surface, it would seem you have a battery issue but then you stated the headlights and various other electrical items work. The interesting thing is why have you gone through so many batteries? Did the battery replacements begin before or after having the remote start installed?

Have anyone nearby with a jump box? A job box is different than using jumper cables. The box usually has enough battery power to start your vehicle without the battery. If it does start than you can look into connections at the grounds or at battery terminals.

They can never find a problem with the car anytime I bring it to the dealership so they just give me a new battery to make me happy and it happens again.

I even once tried bringing the battery inside my warm house overnight if it was going to be a very cold night then bringing it outside the next morning and putting in the car and it still doesn't start.
