FIXED: Turns out it was just that the plastic where it was clipped just below the window had come undone. I just had to sit inside with it closed to see it. I was able to line up the plastic clips on the inside and push them back in.

There is a squeaky rattle from this part of my power liftgate near the handle. It squeaks/rattles every time one of the doors is shut or when driving and I go over a bump. It's coming specifically from there as when the liftgate is open, it does not make the noise. But if I hit it hard with my hand, it makes that noise again. On the other side in the same spot, it does make that sound if I hit it with my hand, but I have to hit it much harder and the sound isn't nearly as loud.

I've read some threads regarding older models with this problem. People fixed it by putting rubber weatherstrip, foam, felt, etc. in between the plastic and the metal of the liftgate door. On my vehicle, there is almost no gap between the plastic and the metal.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do and how to make this noise stop?

Squeeze something like a couple napkins up in there between? See if that does it? Could do your best to catch it on recording too, may help a little with answers. Though I'm not as familiar with these newer models, so it could be a common issue with plenty of fixes here

Wonder if it's an internal issue. Try taking that trim off for a day?

i wonder if pull the skin off if its missing a clip etc, as demonmudder mentioned napkins could work but imo that speaker surround foam stuff is the stuff cause it lasts decently and deadens the sound

Well again, its just to see if it's due to the plastic rubbing or not, not meant to be a permanent fix, just a test. As said, give it a shot removing it for a day if ya can too, if it makes the noise, can at least see underneath and hopefully the cause that way too

I had a similar noise in my '16 Interceptor. Turned out that interior panel had worked loose at the top....hard to see when the door was open. The clips were squeaking against the metal part of the door. When I say "top", I mean the portion closest to the backlight, at the "hump" for the wiper motor.

Welcome to the Forum.
If it is caused by rubbing, would some graphite powder help?:dunno:

You nailed it! I had to sit in the back with it shut. Some of the clips had come completely loose.
