Sadly my utility didnt come with a tow hitch so i had one installed. Trailer i want to haul has electronic brakes n what not. Where do i find the harness to connect a brake controller to?

Iv checked the glove box but didnt see anything up inside of that., My buddy gave me his wire harness to connect to a controller out of his 2018 F150 and said he had a grey connector in his glove box.. but dont see that in the 2017 utility. Where should i be looking or is this a thing i have to cut and splice some wires into and not so easy as connecting a harness to?

There is an easier way...wireless controller. Even though I have a Sport that is wired from the factory for a brake controller, I find this much easier to use, a Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller. Here's a link to it...you can find them much less than the retail price noted on their website:
Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller

I've used it several times and it works great.

Keep in mind that without a factory installed tow package, the retail Explorer is limited to 2000 lbs. The PIU is 2500 lbs.
