2023 Ford Explorer ST
I just purchased a 2023 Ford Explorer ST. I love it and its HP but I am having an issue. All of the sudden a (parking brake malfunction) light came on. I parked the vehicle to run an errand but when I got back on to leave the vehicle would not let me disengage the parking brake. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership. They took 4 days to tell me that it was the "ABS module and booster". The part was ordered and after 4 more days, they called me to tell me that the part was applied but they were having an issue calibrating the ABS module. The dealership called Ford tech support and the dealership was told that it was a "software update isuue" and that they would have to wait until the enginnering dept developed the software. This has taken 2 weeks and no one has called the dealership service foreaman on any ETA of the software. I called Ford myself and they opened a case but all they tell me is that I have to wait. They have no way to know when the software will be updated. Meanwhile my vehicle is in a stall inside the garage taking up space because it cannot be moved. I am so disappointed with Ford.

Sorry to hear this. While I have had good luck with our 2020 ST, we bought a 2024 E450 based RV which only had 2000 miles on it when it had to go to the dealership for a month. :banghead:

Welcome to the Forum.
I thought that the 6th gen Explorer automatically applied the e-brake when you shift to Park. It is one thing a few owners have complained about.
