anybody has 265/75R16 on a stock 02+ explorer?
did some research and looks like this is the biggest tire that fits, but want to hear from people who actually have those on their truck.
any rubbing issues in tight turns?
how is the stability at highway speeds?
any issues with TPMS?
what is the typical cost of dealer reprorgamming the speedometer?
I am looking at all-season on-road tires

ive been running 32 inch (265/75/16) bridgestone duelers for about a year and havent had any issue of any kind... i do have 2 inch lift springs on the front but regardless of that, plenty people on this forum have put them on with no issue... it should soften up ur ride some since u have a big tire to take some shock from the road... heres what mine looks like

I ran 265/70r17 on stock for 4 years... OEM struts, never an issue. Until I changed struts, problems; then changed to KYB's, problem solved.

i have 265/65/r18 and i have no problems rubbing or anything

I am having 267/75/16's put on tomorrow...

I will keep you updated. BFG Mud Terrains by the way.

Biggapple...that is a sweet looking rig.

BananaBoat...what tires are you running. I'm looking to up to that size/combo, but I'm having issues finding anything that will work for my application. I need to get an aggressive A/T style tire because I do get off road in some sticky situations, but I don't want a full blown M/T because of highway drivability/MPG issues.

I've just had a set of 265/75/16 BFGOODRICH Mud Terrains fitted today. It's fine on rear but very close on the front with steering just off straight.(close to rear of wheel arch)
It's all clears fine however with no rubbing at all.
I would put a picture on but don't know how to get it on here, any one let me know how to ????

BFG All terrain KO seems to be pretty popular and highly rated on most sites.

I had KO's on my old 4runner, LOVED them, the thing would go through ANYTHING.
A great tire for sure.

Ughhh... looks like I will have to wait until Sunday now.

My buddy can't install them while his boss is around because they are oversized... now I need to wait until the weekend.

ao, a dealer or a tire shop will NOT install tires that are different from OEM? kinda makes sense with all the potential legal issues though... :thumbdwn:

Hate to say it, but "crappy tire" will install them for you no problem.
They installed my 33's.
15 bucks a tire, but if you're inpatient like me...

Not really sure what you guys are talking about... it sounds like the guys boss is a bit ****, but I've seen alot of shops that will install them.
Shouldn't be hard to find.
I'm sure Tapp auto would install them for you, if they're still open.
They normally deal with high horsepower cars... but they'll do pretty much anything.

you think with some flexing+turning it may actually rub?
mud terrains look very cool but are too extreme for my purposes (daily driver). i was looking at michelins ltx a/t2 - IMHO a reasonable compromise between on/off road performance. any opinions on these tires?

yea ive seen shops that do it but make u sign a contract saying they arent liable for damages caused by the tires if there r any... they wont offer u a warranty if u didnt buy them from that distributor either... ive seen some places that make exceptions to that rule but there arent many

I am running Yokohama Geoland A/T-S on mine. I think they are best truck tires I have ever owned. They are quite on the highway and stick very well in dry and wet conditions. In the picture below, they went through snow that was 18" deep at on point with very little slippage. Obviously, some offroad tires will do a little better in mud or sand and maybe look a little more aggressive, but for a daily driver you cannot beat these. I also think they look more aggressive then your stock tires.
