297X joints & pre78 D44's?

Ok, so a question for all those running cut down 78-79 Bronco D44's, if you cut according to all the numbers found on this site, and used the inner axles from 71-77 Bronco's.. Don't the 71-77 D44's use smaller u joints not the 297x's that the 78-79 D44's use. How do the inner and outer axle halfs meet up?

You simply order the heavy duty parts, which get you the 297x joints.

Thanx Thomas, are these parts expensive and where might I find them? Do you replace the whole inner and outer axles shafts on both sides?

You should be able to just order the inner shafts, and reuse the outers.

Best to call the axle shaft people, and talk to them about it, to verify everything.
