Someone help me. I have a 2k explorer that is not engaging 1st until you Rev the motor up for a second or 3, slips going into second, and after driving for a while stays bucking slightly. Also, sometimes, the O/D off light blinks. I haven't gotten anywhere to have codes ran yet, but I have changed fluid twice, and replaced the valve body gasket. ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated.

For reading the codes try FORscan. I haven't used it yet but it looks pretty promising. I'll be trying it out tomorrow.

My guess would be the gasket… which you've already replaced

Can't say much til you get the codes read...likely a torque converter if you have the V6.

*update*
got the light to come on. Didn't get any codes though. From a cheaper $200 computer, or from a $5k computer. Did manage to get the shift cable properly aligned though. Could I have blown out the valve body gasket again, driving it with an improperly adjusted shift cable?
