So recently my A/C has been getting warm. About a month ago i bought a recharge from Advanced and tried to recharge the system. That did not do much at all. The Max A/C on full blast right now blows hot.
I thought this may be a blend door problem but due to that fact that about a month ago it was at least warm and not hot i wasn't sure.
Yesterday i decided to crank it while i had the hood open and i noticed that the compressor pulley would cycle on for about 1 second then off for 5-10 seconds. This is all it would do no matter the idle.
(Thinking back... i have been hearing, for a while, the clutch cycle on and off a whole lot and thought it was weird. Maybe this is the clutch and it has been going bad for a while?)
I am wondering if maybe the ac clutch is bad? I know nothing about AC stuff. If it isn't something i can tackle on my own then i will have to "sweat it out" until the fall and tackle it next spring.
Also i just remembered a couple of weeks ago i ran into the store to return a movie and was in for about 5 minutes. I had the dog in the car so i cranked the ac and left it running. I come out to find warm air pumping and the compressor cycling continuously. I think this is the day i finally finished it off!
It doesn't help that i have recently had overheating issues with my engine fan clutch going bad and having to use the pump the heat a few times in traffic to keep the engine temps down until i got my efan wired in.
Also for since we are on the subject and i need to know for my Electric fan installation. On the wiring plug that plugs into the bottom driver side. Which one is the positive wire? I need to wire it into my fan controller. I think they are both dark brown and one has a yellow stripe.
Thanks for your help since i don't know how to diagnose this.
