2nd generation and 3rd generation radios

i have a 96 explorer with the older style harness plugs going into the radio, i want to install a newer 99 radio with cd player ( ford stock) which i believe has the newer plugs, is there an adaptor kit out there or anyone who would know how to match up the speaker wires and make my own adaptor from old radio connectors? any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

There was a site mentioned on here awhile ago that had the factory radios along with harness conversions. I'll try to find it later.

thanks for the link yup that would work but then i can run to the junk yard and remove it from an exiisting vechile, i was thinking more along the lines of a adapter to plug into the new radio and plug into the older harness. yet to find it so i thought i can make my own. thanks anyway for the help
