Thanks for gathering all of this wonderful information.
I've deleted the other thread so that we can keep the info and questions in one place. I will however sticky this thread.
Again, thanks for gathering the info.

great write up! just a question though, i have called doetsh about that part for an '01 sport trac and they told me to check my brake rotors which are 12" rotors when they require 11.25" rotors. would that be unsafe to go down a rotor size? would i have to get new calipers? would fabtechs ranger edge spindles work?

meaning if you want to save up for them then by all means do it if you got the right money, i dont have a job but am looking for one currently. either way whoever gets them we'd post it up on here to show if they work or not haha. but i did do a little research on the fabtech spindles. they say that they are not RECOMMENDED on putting them on any other truck except the ranger edge but thats because they only tested them on the ranger and to me i have not really seen any difference between my neighbors 2001 ford ranger 2wd and my 2001 sport trac. but it would be a good idea for a second or third opinion. thanks again for the quick reply!

I do believe it was a cross over year.

So some of the 95's will run the 94 and some will run the 96 based on manufactured date.

But after reading if you do have a IFS EX then you can use they 96-01 lifts.

I have a '97 v8 awd Ford Explorer with an torsion twist: im getting a good bit of college money soon and wanted to know what exactly would give me about 3 to 4 inches of lift at about a $300 budget, maybe more and some good suggestions on rims and tires. I need to know for a fact some things that would fit so i do not order the wrong things. thanks, Sidney!

Okay for 300 bucks get the body lift it will give you 3" inches of lift and if your only running tt in the front and nothing in the back go to autozone and pick up a part of 2" lift shackles for 20 bucks.

good forums on how to do the shackles:

For $300, I'd save it and get something worthwhile for college ;). Vehicle modifications is investment that only decreases the value of the vehicle. Its easy to spend money on stuff like lifts and tires, but its difficult to save the money for something worthwhile, or at least spend it on something that will go towards a brighter future.

i have shackles in the back already and its sittinng on 33s and doesnt scrub at all with no cutting done. i am getting about 3000 dollars just wanted a small lift didnt think 300 would be to much to spend then putting the rest in the bank for gas money etc... can you give a link to a definit fit for a 1997 all wheel drive 5.0 explorer? thanks, Sidney.
