Hello folks,

Vehicle: 2003 Mounty, 4.0, 150K, 2WD.

I think I've got a front hub going (slight increase in noise and vibration [over the usual road-noise ruckus] when slowly turning to the right at 65+ mph).

I've read some of the great threads but had a question about parts. I know you guys prefer the known quality brands (as do I). Where are your favorite places to get a quality brand at a decent price? What is a good price?

Is there a difference in the front hubs between 4WD and 2WD, or is it the same part for both? I'm not seeing a differentiation, and wanted to be sure.

I'm also seeing notes in the listings for offset flanges, modified flange shape, tapered bearing, etc. What do I need? I assume it's a good idea to get a hub which includes a sensor?

As you can see, I'm kinda' lost. Any insight would be much appreciated! Thank you.

rockauto or amazon.

in rockauto there is heart icon that indicates that part is most people buy. you could choose from the cheapest to the expensive ones, it's your call. The front hub is easy to replace so buying a mid-grade part is not that bad.

amazon has reviews for the part but don't completely trust it, also it's your call. I bought mine for $60 at amazon and it's still doing fine.

I grew up in a small town, so for parts I shop NAPA. They also carry SKF bearings. I like the premium lines for my vehicles. Not as price conscious. I'd only ever buy a cheap part if I was selling the vehicle. Cheap prices = cheap parts, period.

Since others have this same question, maybe people who have replaced the hubs can list what brand they went with and how many miles they've put on the parts since the replacement.
