2x4 Engine in a 4x4

Any one know if a 2000 2.5 2x4 wheel drive Engine , will bolt on to a 2003 2.5 4x4 gearbox

Are you talking manual transmissions on both engines, or is the donor an auto?

as long as the bell pattern is correct you will be fine.

the 2.5 lima (SOHC) has the same bell bolt as the earlier 2.0 and 2.3

If you have the Duratec 2.5 I do not know if it has the same bell as the lima
