hey guys im preparing to get my new tires (Wrangler Authoritys 31*10.5*15) and i got a set of simulated beadlocks for 250 bucks they should look really nice (15*10s). like i said im preparing and i couldnt find any theads that talk about what yal had to trim to fit 31s with nothing but a TT and shackles. i seen someone with 33s that had bl and tt and shackles and had trim some of the inner fender specifically that little rocker trim piece. i personally dont like that whole trim piece that runs along the rockers i realize that there are a gazilion holes under it that hold it on at the bottom of the body. but is it possible to hammer that little piece of metal up under the body and keep it out of sight?

You shouldn't need to trim for just 31s if you have shackles and a TT. Also, the trim isn't just attached on holes on the lower rockers, there are also a bunch of holes in the rocker panels themselves. And if you try to hammer that lower piece up, you mess up the fender alignment and weaken the rocker structure. Not to mention it would just look terrible. If you wanted to do a bit more work, you could either glass over the holes and smooth everything out and paint, or a good welder could plug them.

+1 You do not need to trim to fit 31's!

Wrong, depending on the backspacing and offset of the 15X10's you will need to trim. i will post a pic of mine when i had 31's if you look hard enough you'll see some of the inner fender is cut away as well as some of the rocker molding. give me a few minutes to post a pic.

I can't seem to find the other where I cut my inner fender well near the pinch weld. It's not necessary but with my 31's at the time and my 15x10 with a backspacing of 3.75 in I needed it while the suspension traveled while off-road.

yeah i checked out the rocker trim and **** a brick when i seen the holes in the body lol that got snapped back in realll quick lol and yeah they are 15x10s
with 4 in of back spacing so they are 6 inches deep i was thinking i would have to trim that little trim piece

ok well you'll have to cut less then I had to so maybe cut what i did in the pic then go from there. my back spacing caused the wheel to rub the inn fender well cause it stuck out more yours will have less dish then mine did, not much but maybe enough.

i got them put on today no pics yet but i had to trim the bumper and a little bit of the inner fender just to turn so i need to do some more trimming to get the flex i want to have

ok so you had to cut off what i figured you'd ave to.

i think she looks pretty good!! sorry if the pic is too big

nice. I see what you did rather then cut anything you just took the end cap off. looks great now all you need is to slap the stock center caps on and decide if they should stay chrome or paint them black..

i put them back on after this pic i just trimmed everything off of them except for the piece that you see like where you had that yellow part where you trimmed it i just cut the whole piece that wraps into the wheel well except for a little piece where it screws in. i also had to trim like 2 1/2 inches off the chrome on the bumper.

oh ok, you mean the blue area right the yellow line was to represent the fender line... i forgot to mention that sorry.

i mean pretty much all of that piece of plastic that is toward the wheel is cut off excpt for a little piece wher i could stil screw it in.

Looks good, but I woulda got a skinnier rim. I like the rubber to push out past the lip.

WOW 15X10s? You should have gone with at least a 12.5" wide tire. Or something in the neighborhood of 11.5" at minimum. Oh well, it doesn't look bad or anything, but yeah.

I was tempted to say, "that's hella flush yo"

^^^^^ hellaflush i use to do that with my old focus lol

hmm did i just type that............

yeah i figured someone would say that about it but im not about that ricer life lol

That's the biggest tire Walmart carries for a 15" rim.
