I've got a '94XLT 4x4. I'm planning on installing
the superlift 4" kit and either 32's or 33's. My
question is, I don't want to change the gears for a
while, too expensive. Will the 3.73's be ok, it's
mostly going to be used on unimproved roads, etc.
Will I feel any differece between the 32's and 33's?
My buddy put 31's on his 3.08 geared ranger and it was
fine. I have flowmaster exhaust, superchip and kkm.
Any advice anyone could give would be great, thanks.

I'll give you my opinion: I just lifted my 91 with the Superlift 5.5" kit and put 31x10.50s on it. I've got the pushrod 4L with less than 70k on it and a five speed with 3.55s in the axles. I can definitely tell a difference in power to the ground and I'm sure mileage is going to be negatively affected. I see that you have some performance accessories and 3.73 gears, so you can probably handle the 32s. But as far as the lift goes, I got an actual lift of about 6.5" and my front tires on the stock 4.5" backspacing rims rub the driver side fenderwell at full compression with the wheels cranked full left. I don't know how all these guys put 33x12.50s on their Explorers with no rub with the same kit I have...trimming had to be done I guess, or big bumpstops, or welded up steering stops, or a combination of the three. If you want 32s or 33s, get the Superlift 5.5 or the Skyjacker 6" kit.
