35's with 15x8's and 4.56's?

I am currently running 33's on my "X". I have read a lot of specs in 4wheel and off road that a lot of guys run 35's with 15x8 rims. Is this recommended for road/off road driving, or for just off road? Also, how well will 4.56 do for off road with 35's? I figure since the 3.73's do all right with the 33's, that 4.56's and 35's should be great. I guess my main question is, can I run the 35's with the 15x8's, or should I go to 15x10's for sanity's sake?

i run my 35's/36's on a 10" wheel and will never own another 8" again.

You could also go with a 4.10 if you don't want to jump from 3.73 to 4.56.

35s on an 8" wheel is fine...... personally, i wouldnt go with a 10" wheel if only a 12.5 wide... too much risk of blowing a bead...... but anything wider than 12.5 i would go with a 10"

4.56 will be great for 35s

jim you actully think youll blow a bead on a 15x10 with a 12.50? i dont think so.... i have had em aired down way low.... and never once blew a bead... 35's look stupid on 15x8's .... with a 15x10 itll give your truck more meat to the ground and help the 35's wear more even plus give you wider stance and look more mean.

and you will rub more.... its all preference.. it doesnt really matter.....i blew several beads with 31x10.5s on the stock wheels.... at 15 psi

If trimming is not an issue I'd go with the 10"W rims. If you're going to run 35s, consider going with 4.88s for more power, but 4.56s are the happy medium and will bring you close to stock.

3.73 DOES HAVE ENOUGH NUTZ FOR 35's....
I've been running this way for 2 YEARS. So far, I have been EVERYPLACE the guys with the 4.56's go.

Do I wish I had lower gears? Sure I do, but the combo will work.

I'm running a 35x12.5 Procomp MT on a 15x10 wheel and have NO rub, and have done NO trimming.

oh no doubt the 3.73's with work....... with the 35's i ran mine like that for a long time too..... no problems.... i never had a single problem....

to make you feel better i ran 33 1250 on 7" wheels with 3.27s for a long time.

Well I got m 4.10s to go wiht my 33's. That shuold be more than sufficient. Enough power without loosing too much in gas milage.

I love the look of the 15x10 as to the 15x8 gives it a meaner stance. As far as gears i probably would of gone with 4.88's if I could do it again.

I just took my EX out today, and really went through some really tuff tuff stuff, and it held its own with ease. Didn't have a problem going through/up anything. Went behind saguaro lake, and went up to 4 peaks.

But with the 15x10's there is less room inside the wheel well, and me personally i had to cut a lot of fender to get them to fit. I went out today and like i said was pretty tuff on my EX and they didn't rub at all, I'll have new pix of the trim, (it doesn't look pretty, i just did it yesterday, no touch ups yet)

Also, when I hit the pavement after I was done. My front left wheel camber was way off. was pulling my ex to the left hardcore. the tire looks like / instead of |

took it to big O to have em check it out, they think I trashed the bushings or something, dunno I'll find out in a few hours.

Too much money for such a little change, yeah it would of been nice. But I mean if I had a chance to just do it over, (go back in time) i would of gone with the 4.88's instead.

I am Running 15x8 rims with 36x12.5 swampers with 5.13 gears(yes, I can drive it on the HWY at 70mph) in my 92 XLT and it is fine. I even have my spare 36 on the Stock 15x7 explorer rim.

If your Going to Regear your Truck go at least 4.56 dont go with 4.10s usless you plan on running 32's or 33's

If I told you how much I paid to get my Gears done yall would get mad at me.

I'll let you know in about a week and a half. My LS hasn't gottenhere yet, so no point of paying twice for the same work.

Gear for rear about 250-300 bucks I think, and about 250 bucks to put it in.

Can't remember exactly how much it was, but that's pretty close.
