i have a 02 explorer 4x4 and wanting lift it either by doing body or by supsenion lift. i know the body kit would be cheaper. i can't find either one.i just want to use bigger tires, etc. :exp:
Thats because no one makes any kind of lift for it at all.
There is really no point in lifting it since it's got Independant Rear Suspension (IRS) which is why no one makes a lift for it.
If you want a lifted explorer, go for 1st generation (91-94, the best for 4-wheeling) or a 2nd generation (95-01 newer, but not as flexy as the first generations because they have IFS)
But welcome to the board. Those 3rd generation explorers are cool, but just aren't meant for lifting and wheeling. I have seen some pretty cool ones with blown V-8s and other go fast mods!
Thanks for the reply Yosh. i finding this about 3rd gens. i'm still going with bigger rims and tires 30's or so i hope.i will have to get an 1st or 2nd gen X in the near future. thanks again. :exp:
