Anyone have OEM 3rd gen crossbars for the Roof rack, for some reason I'm missing that on my explorer.

A lot of people are. Your best bet is to go to your local junkyards and try and find a pair. That and Craigslist. You can order them online but they're kind of expensive. I prefer the universal/adjustable Thule ones. They seem much more versatile.

The cross bars were an option for every trim except for the NBX's. Lucky me cross bars standard :D

Took the Explorer to Coal Creek this past weekend. Here's a pic, more to follow later.

I think I like the look of your truck better without the headlight guards.

Thanks.I think it looks better with out them. After this trip, I was checking out the explorer and found both of my front upper ball joints had ripped. I just installed these about 6 months ago. I have 2 extra that I will take the boots off and replace them. I think it's time for me to invest in some BTF upper control arms.

Can't beleive I just read this entire post...again

There is a ton of information and "talk" in here, it is a good read.

I don't think the frame is even from a 3rd or 4th gen. Different shape...you can tell by looking above where the rear axle is...no frame hoop and no inboard bend.

Still an awesome truck...it's cool to see all the things those guys do to make a truck able to haul ass through desert terrain.
