Yes I am; I mainly do photography whenever I get the time to. Thanks, I have a few that look like they should be in a sales brochure. I have a few more pics in my registry (link in my sig).

and im waitin for the coupler to come in to do the stage 2 intake mod, as well as the airbox mod then sooner or later exhaust

I am partial to the boards being left on. I don't like how you can see the frame without them. But dang nice X though. Still looks great.

I partially agree on that. My 98 has no frame showing (no running boards) and with the 05 the frame is hanging far below. I dont understand why ford decided to do that.
My opinion; I hate the look of running boards, especially the XLT style ones. I think the explorers look taller without the running boards, but everyone has their own opinion and I respect that.

I am thinking of having some bolt on rocksliders made that will sit a little higher than the factory running boards but not let the frame show too much either.

Plus they should hold up a bit better to rocks and logs popping up and hitting them.

Logs suck.

Good plan on the custom fab rock slider's. I'm in the process of removing mine to see how she look's, I may travel that road if she look's too naked! Skid plate is in the process of being made and should have that on by next week. I'm not bored...really I'm not.

thanks man! i agree on the running boards, and after i lift it i am thinking about getting some nerf bars or the rock sliders, the gf needs something to step on to get in once its lifted :D my dads wrangler has rock sliders and i absolutely love the way they look. does anyone have any pics of a 3rd gen with rock sliders??

Is that a skid plate for the fuel tank? If so, please post some pics of it before you put it on the truck (if you can). Fuel tank skid plate is on my mod list.

Nah, mine already has protection for the tank. This is mainly to protect the little radiator/cooler that's mounted to the cross member under the motor. It won't be heavy duty as it's only going to be made out of 3mm (1/8 th?), just to stop stick's and root's from doing anymore damage.

Good idea on the power steering cooler needing protection!

You're lucky you got that factory installed skidplate...I think in the U.S. only the NBX 3rd Gens got that as standard equip.

I had been thinking about making my own...but I might just go to the dealer and buy the oem version since yours looks good.

WTF did you do to that cooler?!?!?!? lol :p: I've been off roading a lot and mine doesnt look even close to that.

EDIT: and you're lucky having that factory skid plate. Now I just need to find one for my Ex... Junkyard time this spring! :D
Second gens got lucky, I beleive every 4X4 model got a skid plate from the factory.

I reckon you'd be right making your own if the OEM one is expensive mate. Let me know if you decide to do that and I'll take some more photo's for you:thumbsup:
