4.0 ohc engine swap to 4.0 OHV

i was wondering if a 4.0 OHV out of a 2000 ford explorer will fit in a 99 ford explorer sport 4x4 that had a 4.0 OHC.

Fit? Of course. Operate in place of? Not without lots of rather difficult work, some mechanical, some electrical. Not sure, but somewhere in about those years, the fuel system was changed to eliminate the fuel return line to the tank. Just another possible headache involved. imp

If you change to the OHV you will lose 50hp. I don't know how you would feel about that but I would most certainly be heart broken.

A blown up ohc makes 0 hp. Get a late model stang engine, $500, then sell that JUNK.
