I have a 96 X Sport 2 door, 4.0 OHV with Automatic Trans and "Sport Trac 4wd" with 92000 miles on it.

As it stands, I plan on a few things for it to bump the power up a bit. One is the KKM (I believe) intake. I had a similar setup on a 4 cyl. Probe, and it made a HUGE improvement, even over a drop-in K&N panel filter. Thats pretty straightforward, no explanations needed.

Now, what kind of options do I have for Exhaust? What are the pros/cons of side exit and rear exit pipes for this vehicle with this engine?

Initially, I was thinking out of the cat, into a flowmaster, and out the side, behind the passenger side door. But, I looked underneath, and it seems to me that side exit on the passenger side would have to be a bit farther forward than I would like it, due to the placement of the front spring shackle.

I also was thinking of dual Rear-Exit pipes, but placement of the rear tire, and the fuel tank kinda decided for me (putting the spare in the cargo area kinda defeats the purpose of having an explorer, rather than still having my Probe. Not knocking anyone for moving their spare, but thats my reason for keeping it there).
Could I possibly run a larger pipe, to the same exit location as the stock pipe, from the converter back (using a muffler, of course)?

Any help would be appreciated.
