Who knows how much it would cost to replace all 3 timing chains in a SOHC 4.0? I want to do some safty work on it to make sure it doesnt crap out on me since i bought it with 125,000 miles on it. Since it is a interference engine and it has such high compression, i dont want to damage the valves, cams or pistons. so a few hunderde wont kill me. and i would like any other ideas on things to look into doing to keep this motor running for good. im running synthetic blend right now, and am going to go fully synthetic this spring, K&N air filter. going to change fuel filter and get a tune up. any other ideas?

It's going to cost a lot more than a few hundred to do the timing chains. From my understanding, the timing chains arent the real problem...it's the tensioner and guides (cassettes)

How much is that gonna run me?

My local Ford dealership quoted me 1,400.00 to replace all 3 chains and the tensioners. They have to remove the motor to replace the rear chain. Your best bet is to go to a good independent shop.
