4.0L oil level sending unit.

I was wondering where the oil level sensor sending unit is on a 4.0 ohv. Our 93 aerostar check oil light seems to have a mind of its own.

If I recall it's on the oil pan.
 






yes, front driver side corner area.
 












I'd replace it if you're taking it off. I've had them fail, then leak oil out of the sensor.

Any idea what size it is. I've tried a 1in and even that was to small.
 












It's been long enough I'm not sure if it's 27mm or 28mm that I used to replace mine several years ago
 






Need to replace mine in the Sport. If it's below about 50* it doesn't work until the engine warms up a bit. So I have the check gauge light on every morning in the winter. I probably will not see it now until November. 🤷
 






Well it's clean now for an oil change and see what happens.
