Fellows. Have a 02 S/T with the 4.0l V6. The oil filter adapter has developed a leak between the adapter and engine block. Apparently Ford knows about this "issue" and issued a TB fix for it.
Removing the adapter looks to be a royal PIA as you have to pull exhaust system parts (manifold, Y-Pipe, etc) to get to the adapter retaining bolt.
I'ld like to know if others have installed a remote filter system as I "think" the bolt securing the remote system adapter plate would be easily removed IF....IF..... I would ever have to reseal the adapter plate at a future date.
Not sure where I would locate the filter.
