I have read several threads on here but have not seen an answer to a question. I own a 2004 4.0L V6 with the VIN "K" letter. I have recently found out the the engine that comes in that year of vehicle has issues with timing chains causing the owner to have to replace the timing chains every 50,000 to 70,000 miles.
My question is:
Is there another V6 motor that I can replace this 4.0L with and not have to do major changes to the vehicle and that will bolt up to the current transmission? I understand the computer module may have to match the engine and will be the needed change.
Can someone direct me to these answers.
