Has anyone successfully hidden a decent sized (in terms of physical dimensions) 4 channel amp in a 3rd gen explorer with 3rd row seating? I don't want to mount it to any seat back because I need to be able to seat cousins in the car without fear of them coming in contact with exposed wires.

I measured the only logical place as I can see it, which is under the middle (20%) seat, as the other 40% seats have to be able to flip up to access the 3rd row. Unfortunately there isn't much room under there.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I saw that one, and I really like it. Also, I have the exact same amp.

Unfortunately, that's where the factory sub is which I would like to keep. So that location is out for me.

Hmm, under the middle seat I was able to mount a small punch, I think 150.2 (stolen last week along with my sub :( ) but I have no idea where else could you mount the 4ch amp, unless you changed the sub to an aftermarket :dunno:

I found this on Crutchfield, looks promising:

I'll have to measure to confirm, but I'm pretty sure it will fit under the 20% middle row seat. This will power the doors, and let me switch out the factory sub for a different 8" and use the 5th channel on the amp for that.

Nice!! but at 600US it's a little expensive for my taste hehe
