When I went to adjust my od and intermediate bands while loosening the nut on the int. band my wrench slipped and the pin loosened as well causing the anchor to fall down.Am i screwed now having to have the tranny pulled out or is this something that can done in truck.I just got done replacing the valvebody with a new 5r44e and there was still a slight slip in 2-3 gear so tried a band adjustment od went smooth with only maybe 1/4 adjustment necessary but inetmediate was another story being rusted in place. If it can be done in truck does anyone have the steps to do this.

Drop the valve body, and carefully try to get the apply strut back into place in front of the adjuster stud. The sticky thread about band adjustment has a step by step procedure on how to adjust the bands.

thanks brooklynbay

Thanks for the heads up was able to place the anchor stud in place and tighten the im band without removing the valvebody thank God for offset extra long reach needle nose and small hands.
That however didnt solve my 2-3 slip, do you have any other suggestions and now I have a very soft engage in reverse as well. So far I have did the band adjustments replaced the 4r44e valve body with a new complete 5r44e retro valve body separtor plate and gaskets supposed to be dyno tested and ready to be bolted in place?? After all this I had realized if this could be any cause to some of this? The rim/tires stock were 195/75/14 now it has 215/50/17 on it even though there is maybe 1" difference in overall size that this may be a problem with the speed sensor. I have read that other had reflashed the pcm being that this is a 1995 ranger 2.3 auto 2wd single cab is this possible. Our local ford dealer is not the friendliest to ask. Running out of things to do with no codes and no od flashing I really am now lost of what to do.

As a closing note this is my only Ford at the moment(sons first truck) and without this forum-that Ranger would be off a cliff-I have really learned alot with the picts and tutorials that this sight has to offer. Thank You

The shift points are off because of the tire size. You will need to replace the gear on the VSS to match it to the tire size. Check the sticky thread on the top of the transmission section on speedometer gears for more information.
