4WD high and low light

On my 99 explorer sport AWD, the 4WD high and low light flashes periodically at the same time when ever i drive it and its not letting me put it it any of those gears? Any help would be great. Thanks Dan.

This topic comes up quite often but there is typically not one answer -- it could be the shift motor, the VSS sensors and so on. You need to get the computer read for codes.

BTW if you have a Sport, you don't have an "AWD", you have a selectable 4WD
