4x4 adapter

Can I take the tail off a 5 speed manual 4x4 tranny and bolt it to a 2wd tranny? Or is the output shaft different?

the output shaft and tailhousing are different, the trans will likey have to come completely apart to replace the output shaft.

What 5 speed is this?
I am more familiar with auto's but from what I know about the 5 speeds the real is totally different (slip yoke for the driveshaft on the 2wd is in the tailhousing)

The Mazda one in the explorer. Found a nice one...but it's 2wd so it sounds like it won't work.
