4x4 buttons not recieving power?

Okay, here goes. I can't seem to diagnose or even find the problem with my lack of 4x4. It's a 93 Ranger, and it almost seems like the buttons on the dash aren't getting power. There are no lights at all on, and pushing the buttons yields absolutely no result. I've been checking fuses, but don't have a diagram to match the fuses to. Is there a specific fuse the 4x4 runs on, if any fuse at all? Because of the 4x4 motor being housed in the transfer case, does it forgo the boxes and draw power directly from the motor?
