4x4 Low not engaging

Maybe it's me that's the issue, I am new to this explorer.

2006 Limited 4.6, all 4x4 lights turn on when key on, 4x4 high and auto work. Cannot get 4x4 low light to turn on the dash when I press the button. Yes I have tried putting it 4x4 high first, then press brake with trucking neutral, still nothing.


Have heard of some ground wire issues, possibly a 4x4 control module?

On the transfer case there is a motor which engages the low portion of the 4x4 more than likely it's bad. 4x4 high activates the brown wire which is a electric coil that pushes agains clutches. The low is a motor which physically turns and engages the low gear. I would replace that first on a hunch if that doesn't do it then you have a wiring issue going to that motor.
