4X4 not engaging

I have read some of the other threads in hopes of answering my own question but couldnt find anything. I bought my 1992 4x4 EBauer explorer about 3 months ago. I cant get the 4x4 to work though. Everytime I press the buttons on the dash to engage it I get nothing. No lights........... hubs engaging..... NOTHING..... Can anyone help me please and kind of get me in some sort of direction??? Thanks for your help. You guys are a great help.

Hello,

The first step is to check the fuse box and make sure there is indeed power going to the 4x4 switch.

But I suggest you browse the Transmission and Transfer Case section of the message board - the 4x4 engagement problem is a very common topic.

Welcome to the site.... You'll find lots of info hear just by using the search feature... Your issue is very common and is asked on an almost daily basis... Look in the section IZwack has pinted out for the shift motor rebuild.. Its fairly easy and will save you several hundred $$...
